Beach at sunrise
5:30 AM   A solitary couple takes a stroll just before sunrise.

Beach at sunrise
6:00 AM   A colorful dawn.

Beach

Boys playing in the surf
8:00 AM   Young boys cooling down in the surf.

Noon  Only mad dogs and Englishmen --and a herd of water buffalo-- go out in the midday sun.

3:30 PM   A couple finds some solitude on an almost-deserted beach.

Full moon over the Bay of Bengal

Photographs were taken from the balcony of my apartment, overlooking the Bay of Bengal.

Hi

Greetings!

My name is Nag , a television producer working from Singapore, i just happen to see your blog , . I'm currently working on an 8-part television series called Global expats for a local television channel. It aims to examine and track the lives and livelihood of expatriates who choose to work, live and play in Asia. I would like to feature you in our series. We would like you to share your Expat experience what kind of a cultural shock you had? How did you cope? What are the things you like about the new place? How is different is life away from home etc. what's the culture shock you had first moved in? What efforts you take to adapt to the culture? (For example learning language, music, art etc? how you socialize with local people etc.

If you are interested pls. drop me line

We will take it from there.

Regards

Nag

Absolutely beautiful Basia. I've been to the beach soo many time in the last 20 something years but like they say I guess beauty sure is in the eye of the beholder! :)

One of your best posts, at least for me. I'm close to the water, have a friend with a boat, as well as my father-in-law, and I should make the effort to get out on the bay!

Have to say, I could have easily spent the day within these pictures, thank you.

Hi Basia, these are nice pics and all that taken from "your window", that's a nice view you have. One of them reminded me how dark I thought Chennai was after 6PM (maybe because that was in December and March... don't know:)

Heather: Thanks!

Shannon: Done! It will be added to the "Past Favorites" list.

Nag: Yes, I'd be interested. I've sent you an email.

Gayathri: Thanks!

Kevin G: Yeah, I can easily spend the day just looking out my window over the water...

Gayathri L: It does start to get dark right after 6 PM throughout the year. The daylight hours don't change much -- it's always give or take a half hour from 6.
